Dyson’s hair care range is built on a single idea: style the hair with a high-speed airflow and precise temperature control rather than extreme heat, so you get the result without damaging the hair. The range consists of four products, the Airwrap, the Supersonic, the Corrale and the Airstrait, in a number of variants. This guide goes through all of them, who they suit, and which accessories you actually need.

Dyson Airwrap i.d.: the multi-styler

The Airwrap is the flagship: it dries, curls, smooths and adds volume using the Coanda effect, where the airflow wraps the hair around the barrels almost by itself. The newest i.d. generation connects to the Dyson app and adapts airflow and heat to hair type, length and the result you want.

The variants:

  • Airwrap i.d. Straight+Wavy (from about 5 280 kr), optimised for straight and wavy hair.
  • Airwrap i.d. Curly+Coily (from about 5 280 kr), for curly and afro-textured hair.
  • Airwrap Coanda2x (from about 7 640 kr), a double Coanda effect for faster styling, in both Straight+Wavy and Curly+Coily.
  • Airwrap i.d. Long (from about 5 990 kr), with longer 40 mm and 50 mm barrels and longer brushes for hair past the shoulders. Same motor and i.d. technology as the Complete, but the attachments take more hair per pass.
  • Airwrap Origin (from about 4 110 kr), the entry model without the i.d. sensor.

If you have long or thick hair, the Long version is worth the extra: the larger barrels give more even curls. For short to medium hair the Complete/Straight+Wavy is perfectly sufficient.

Airwrap accessories: what does what

Much of the Airwrap’s strength lies in the accessories. Here is how to choose:

  • 30 mm barrel, tight, defined curls; best for short to medium hair.
  • 40 mm barrel, the most versatile; natural waves and Hollywood curls.
  • 50 mm barrel (Long only), big, loose beach waves on long hair.
  • Firm smoothing brush, controlled, sleek styling on curly or wavy hair.
  • Soft smoothing brush, natural volume and movement without removing all the texture.
  • Round brush, volume at the roots and the classic blowout look.
  • Drying nozzle, pre-dry the hair to around 80% before you style.
  • Diffuser, defines natural curls without frizz.

A travel case and a wall mount keep the unit organised. If you need new brushes or an extra barrel, the parts typically cost 300 to 600 kr.

Dyson Supersonic: the hair dryer

The Supersonic has a digital motor that spins around 110,000 times a minute and measures the temperature 40 times a second to avoid heat damage. It dries quickly, is strikingly quiet (the motor sits in the handle) and weighs only 659 grams.

  • Supersonic Nural (from about 4 110 kr), the newest model, with a sensor network that adjusts the heat according to the distance from the scalp. It also comes in a Curly+Coily variant.
  • Supersonic Origin (from about 4 340 kr), the standard model with all the core functions.

In the box you get a smoothing nozzle, a styling nozzle, a diffuser and a flyaway attachment. The Supersonic is the obvious choice if what you mainly want is to dry your hair quickly and gently every day.

Dyson Corrale and Airstrait: straightening

The Corrale (from about 4 299 kr) is a cordless straightener with flexible manganese plates that gather the strands and spread the heat evenly, so you get the result at a lower temperature, with as much as 50% less heat damage. A built-in battery gives around 30 minutes of cordless use, or unlimited use with the cable. Three heat settings: 165, 185 and 210 °C. Ideal for travel and touch-ups.

The Airstrait (from about 5 050 kr) straightens the hair with air instead of heated plates, so you can go straight from wet to smooth hair without drying it separately first.

Airwrap, Supersonic or Corrale: which should you choose?

  • The Airwrap if you want one tool that does everything, drying, curling, smoothing and adding volume, and you like variety.
  • The Supersonic if what you mostly need is quick, gentle drying day to day.
  • The Corrale if you want a cordless straightener for smooth hair and styling on the move.

Dyson Airwrap vs Shark FlexStyle

The most common alternative is the Shark FlexStyle (about 2 499 kr), which costs less than half the Airwrap. Shark also uses air for styling, but without Dyson’s advanced Coanda technology and app tailoring, and you have to wrap the hair manually. In tests the Airwrap gives more even and longer-lasting curls, particularly on fine to medium hair, while the FlexStyle delivers solid “good enough” results for the money. In short: choose the Airwrap for the best result and technology, the FlexStyle if the budget decides.

Is Dyson hair care worth the price?

Work out the cost per use. A salon blowout costs 500 to 800 kr; use the Airwrap twice a week and it is paid off within a few months. A good Supersonic or Corrale typically lasts many years. Beyond the convenience, the main gain is less heat damage over time, which shows on hair you style often.

Cashback on Dyson hair care

Shop via the Dyson page on Sparebørsen and you get 2.8% cashback on the Airwrap, Supersonic, Corrale and Airstrait (1.4% on accessories), at the same price as directly on dyson.no. On an Airwrap at 5 990 kr that comes to around 168 kr back, and the cashback applies on top of Dyson’s own campaigns. Frequently asked questions

Do I get cashback on the Dyson Airwrap?
Yes, when the purchase starts via Sparebørsen at a retailer we work with. The Airwrap is an expensive product, so the percentage amounts to a real sum, but check the rate on the partner page first, because it varies between retailers.
Does that apply to the Supersonic and Corrale too?
Yes. The cashback is tied to the shop, not to the individual model, so the whole hair care range is normally covered. The exception is campaign items the shop has itself taken out of the commission arrangement.
How long does it take before cashback on a hair care product is approved?
Reckon on 30 to 90 days. On expensive products with a long returns window, the shop normally waits until that window has closed before confirming the order, which is why it takes time.
