Cashback on supplements: is it actually worth it?

Money back sounds good, but does it pay off in practice on supplements? Here is the honest version.

Sparebørsen: you shop, we bring the money back

What you actually get back

Cashback is a share of the purchase amount. On a supplement purchase of 500 kroner at ten per cent, that is 50 kroner back. Not a fortune, but real money on a purchase you made anyway.

When it is worth it

It pays off best when you buy supplements regularly, since the amounts stack on top of each other. It takes only a few extra seconds to go via Sparebørsen before you shop.

The trap to steer clear of

Cashback pays off as long as it does not tempt you into buying more than you need. Buy the same as before, and you always come out ahead. Buy extra just for the cashback, and you have lost money.

Frequently asked questions

Are the amounts big enough to bother with?

Per purchase they are modest. But on regular spending over a year the total becomes noticeable, and you do not spend a krone extra to get it.

Is there a catch?

The only catch is that you have to remember to go via Sparebørsen before you shop. Do that, and it costs you nothing.
