Is cashback too good to be true? An honest look

When something sounds too good, it is sensible to ask questions. So let us take cashback from the sceptical side.

Sparebørsen: you shop, we bring the money back

It is real, but it is not free money out of nowhere

Cashback is genuine. But the money comes from somewhere: the marketing budgets of the shops. They pay to win customers, and you get a share of that payment. No magic, just a model.

It will not make you rich

Cashback is not a source of income. It is a way to get a little back on spending you have anyway. Anyone promising you wealth from cashback is overselling it.

The trap is shopping more

The only way cashback can cost you money is if it tempts you into buying things you do not need. Buy the same as before, and you always come out ahead.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a catch I am not seeing?

No hidden catch. We earn commission from the shops and share it back. The only thing you have to do is go via us before you shop.

Why do the shops give money away?

They are not giving money away, they are paying for marketing. Winning a happy customer is worth the commission to them.

Stay sceptical, but try it yourself: creating an account is free, and you can see how it works.
