Cashback or discount code: which is worth more?

People often think they have to choose between a discount code and cashback. That is rarely true: as a rule you can use both on the same purchase.

Cashback ranking at Sparebørsen: kroner back per store

Discount code: money off straight away

A discount code is deducted at the checkout. The problem is that codes are often expired, apply only to selected items, or do not exist for the store you are shopping at.

Cashback: money back afterwards

Cashback gives you a share back after the purchase, whatever you buy in the store. No code to hunt for, nothing that expires.

Best of all: use both

If the store has a valid discount code, use it at the checkout. Click through via Sparebørsen at the same time for cashback on top. Then you get money off now and money back later, on the same purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Can I always combine a discount code with cashback?

As a rule yes, but some stores make exceptions. Cashback works either way; the discount code is a bonus on top when one exists and is still valid.

Why is cashback more reliable than codes?

Because cashback does not expire and does not require you to find the right code. You click through, you shop, and the money comes.

Stop hunting for codes that do not work: create a free account and get cashback on everything you buy.
