Some info about this knife::Ergonomically-designed handle of beautiful curly birch wood with a polished finish. The wood is stabilised by vacuum injecting blue acrylics which makes it stable, durable, and resistant to moisture and dirt. The colour of the wood varies individually from blue to green, with elements of brownSturdy welted sheath in vegetable-tanned European leather with a draining holeSwedish Stainless steel 14C28N from Sandvik. The blade, following a special Cryogenic hardening routine, holds an edge really wellScandinavian grind, along with the steel properties, makes the knife robust, effective for wood carving, and easy to sharpen in the outdoorsAll Casström knives are cryo-quenched. Cryogenic hardening is a treatment process where the steel is cooled to very cold temperatures with the use of liquid nitrogen. This enhances the performance of the steel at a molecular level and in practical terms, gives the blade more wear resistance and is less prone to chipping compared to a blade with the same hardness that was not cryogenically quenched.
